The standard page is a unit for measuring the volume of translation and/or editing services.

One standard page is equivalent to any of the following units:

• 1800 characters of the target document, including spaces
• 250 words
• 20 lines (12 words per line)
• 6 Kb 

The size of a material is estimated as follows:

The size of a material submitted for translation/editing electronically in the MS Word or other electronic text format, in basic graphical office applications or in hard copy (on paper) is calculated on the basis of the translated text. The size of a material submitted electronically in the MS Word format or in other format to be exported to MS Word is preliminarily estimated using the statistics function in the Services menu by dividing the number of characters (including spaces) by 1800 and rounding up the result to the nearest 0.5 page.

Our specialists have computed statistical ratios for translations from/into main languages. This allows us to estimate the translation price with a reasonable degree of accuracy before commencing translation and permits our valued Clients to plan their translation costs in advance. The actual ratio may vary within plus/minus 0.02 depending on the language pair and the subject matter. For instance, for translations from major European languages into Russian the ratio is 1.21-1.25. For translations into major European languages the ratio is 1.11-1.13.

For translations from/into uncommon languages, the volume of the services rendered and billing are based on the Russian text and are estimated according to the methodology described above, regardless of whether the translation is made from a foreign language into Russian or vice versa.
